136,000 horses were sacrificed for the Australian effort in World War 1, with only 1 horse returning at the end of the war, yet horses are not allowed to be included in the march for the WW1 centenary ANZAC parade in Albany WA and reasons given were that someone may slip on horse poo and horses in a march are dangerous. The original horses must have marched to the departure when they left our shores so are horses now more dangerous or are we breeding a country full on wowsers?
