13th Gate - Baton Rouge, Louisiana ACTORS, MODELS, SP/FX MAKEUP ARTISTS, & HAIRSTYLISTS WANTED! Come be a part of our family and experience how fun it really is to scare people silly. When: August 30, 31, September 6, or 7. Come in anytime between 9am-5pm. No appointment is necessary. Where: The 13th Gate at 832 St Phillip St., downtown Baton Rouge. What to Expect: Basically, you will fill out an application then wait to be called in for your audition. Because we would like to see what you can do, we would like for each applicant to present a monologue, skit, or any talent that would make you stand out among the hundreds of people who apply. Its not required, but it does help! Show us what ya got! This could be acting, singing, comedy, voices, accents, etc. We just want to get to know you and what you are capable of. Your chances of getting hired are greater if you entertain us, otherwise, you are solely being hired only on an interview. You MUST be at least 18 YEARS OLD (bring your ID), have TRANSPORTATION, and be ENTHUSIASTIC! On the application, you will be able to list the nights and times you will be available to work for us. Some actors are required to report to work at 5:00 p.m., however, ALL actors MUST report to work by 6:00 p.m. on the nights that they are scheduled. No exceptions. Work usually lasts till midnight or later. You must be able to work the entire shift from 6:00 p.m. till close. Again, your chances of being hired are greater if you are available to work ALL, or most, of the dates, and are…enthusiastic! First and foremost, it is a job, but it is a fun job! If your resume is catered to theater or the arts, please bring it, however, it is not required. Makeup Artists: We are particularly looking for special effects makeup artists. We would like to see examples of your work. If you have a portfolio or photographs (electronic is fine) catered to special effects, please bring that with you to the interview. Makeup artists must report to work for 5:00 p.m. each night to begin applying makeup to our actors. Makeup shifts last till about 8:00 p.m. Some makeup artists like to become part of the show as an actor and get in costume and makeup and work until we close around midnight, or later (on busy nights). If you would like this option, please let us know during your interview. Hairstylists: We are looking for hairstylists to shape and mold our actors’ hair into terrorific styles! Hairstylists are required to report to work at 5:00 p.m. each night and are usually done by 8:00 p.m. Hairstylists may also become part of the show as an actor and work until we close. The haunted house is open for 23 nights this season. The dates are: September 26, 27 October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23 – 31 November 1, 7, 8 (Flashlight Fright Nights) If your dream is to act, the 13th Gate is a great place to begin or if youre already an actor, its a great place to practice night after night! This is your chance to perform for thousands of people, a different audience every other minute, and play different roles.
