Details: Early Warning Network: ewn.au WA Bushfire Watch & Act: Eastern Part of Donnybrook Friday 9 January 2015 - 2:26 PM A bushfire WATCH AND ACT has been issued for people in Irishtown Road, Miller Road and Meotti Road, in the eastern part of Donnybrook, in the Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup. The alert level for this fire has been upgraded as the fire has flared up and is heading towards properties. There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is approaching the area and conditions are changing. You need to leave or get ready to actively defend. The fire is burning south of Irishtown Road and west of Hardy Place in Donnybrook. It is burning towards Irishtown Road. BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR: The bushfire is out of control and unpredictable. This means homes in Irishtown Road, Miller Road and Meotti Road may be threatened by the fire. WHAT TO DO: If you are not prepared or you plan to leave, leave now if the way is clear. If you are well prepared and plan to actively defend your home, make final preparations now. If you are not at home, do not try to return as conditions in the area could be very dangerous. ROAD CLOSURES: No roads are closed. Avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING: Volunteer Bush Fire Service firefighters are on the scene. EXTRA INFORMATION: The fire was reported at 11.40am today. The cause of the fire is suspicious. People are asked to report any suspicious behaviour to Police Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
