14 Days Special Cheers is not only a home of hope for children - TopicsExpress

14 Days Special Cheers is not only a home of hope for children with challenges, it is a home of hope for four legged creatures that needed hope for life. Benji (the little black puppy) was left at the front gate of Special Cheers on Clay Road in the middle of the night. He was not even five weeks old, full of mange, worms, and a bag of bones. Sara (the red dog) was dropped off last week, about a year old and starving. Sancha (the gentle giant) was rescued two years ago. Sancha was a PMU mare which was kept pregnant for her urine that was used for pharmaceutical hormone replacement. When the market was shut down, there was no more funding for the farm. Sancha was left to fend for herself. Today, Sancha has gained 1000 pounds and a dynamic part of the therapy team. Benji and Sara are healthy, gaining weight, and learning boundaries to be apart of the therapeutic environment for the children. Benji, Sara, and Sancha are only three of the many rescues that are now part of the therapy team. All of these companions required vet bills and special feed to enhance their health and weight. Special Cheers is not only a home of hope for children with special challenges, it is a home of hope for those companions that are a perfect fit for the therapy team. Special Cheers is a 501 (c) 3 organization that relies of donations to help extraordinary companions reach their optimal potential with the gift of love, trust, and vitality for the children.
