14 October 2014 My lunch appointment with owner of 18Chef Restaurant, Benny Se Teo. Hes very humble, has no air, down to earth, straight-forward but above all, a soft-hearted Christian. His long waited book, One More Chance will be released in a couple of weeks! Youll get to know his early misguided years & his moving story from his book. I asked about his plans for the future. A bit like me, he doesnt believe in a 5 year plan. He believes in doing & living his best each day with gratitude & appreciation. Nonetheless, his objective has influenced him to open 2 ( currently has has 5 outlets) more outlets, one at Somei & the other at Bukit Panjang Plaza. Hell be giving a motivating talk of his testimony in Hongkong on 02 November. His awesome objective is to show the world that a nobody in this world (even an ex convict) can climb mountains in life, if youre determined & willing. He hopes to impact the world and change lives towards propereality. A very tall calling indeed. If you think thats great, wait till you learn about his self-taught musical gift that he owes. He was a music director, plays the axe, composes songs & a Shifu of a once famous local pop band, Mi Lu Bing 迷路兵! Im extremely impressed! A musical chef! I hope Ill have the opportunity to perform with him, one day. Dream on. He treated me to a spicy seafood pasta meal. Not too spicy or saltbush. Just nice for me. His chef came to ask for feedback. I have 2 thumbs up while Benny encouraged him! Beautiful working environment. Thank you Shifu Benny. I had a great time, I learn some lifes values today. Grateful with respect!
