14 die in road crashes SG Fourteen lives were snuffed out in two road crashes in the Kingdom in the last 24 hours.In the first accident, three Indian expats who were on their way from Dammam to Jeddah to take part in a football match were killed on the Riyadh-Makkah highway on Thursday.“Their Toyota Land Cruiser overturned near Dulum, some 200 km from Taif,” a common friend, who had been informed about the accident by one of the injured travelers, told Arab News.The victims were Farooq, 31, Sahal, 27, and Ashiq, 27, all of whom reportedly died on the way to the hospital.“The duo were on their way to play in a tournament, scheduled to kick off on Thursday in Jeddah,” said V.P. Hifsu Rahman, president of Saudi-Indian Football Forum in Jeddah.The tournament has been postponed.In the second accident, 10 Yemeni infiltrators died on their way to Riyadh.“A Saudi citizen was also killed, along with the 10 victims, in a valley near Najran on the way to Riyadh on Wednesday,” said Saud Al-Duwais, Najran Red Crescent spokesman.“Seven ambulance teams rushed to the scene and found 11 bodies and four injured people,” he said.The bodies have been shifted to King Khaled Hospital in Najran.
