14 months ago I was stuck in a dead end job and wasting my life away. I was depressed and felt like my life had no meaning, about 100 lbs over weight I was destined for failure. Fast forward 12 months until the middle of October, 100 lbs lighter and a new look on life. I packed up the few things, about a bags worth of material items and jumped on a train to NYC. (-0 days) That was a Monday that I had arrived. Wednesday afternoon (+03 days) I completed my resume and starting sending them out via craigslist. Friday afternoon I had 3 interviews lined up for Monday morning. (+07 days). My first interview I aced it and was hired on the spot. I felt so blessed, and for the first time, I was in a position to be creative. I was offered a promotion 2 days ago after only working there about 2 months . The position of Kitchen Manager / Executive Chef. Today was my first day after accepting that position, although stressful, it felt so rewarding. Ive worked so many years slaving away in hot ass kitchens, years of experience wasted away because I was afraid to grow up. 34 years old and I finally fell like a grown up. Financially stable, mentally stable, and feeling healthier then ever. Im moving forward with some great new people in my life. For the people that say people cant change, Im living breathing real life testament that you can change. Dont ask me how, just ask me why and Ill tell you that Im destined for greatness !
