#1414 It is sad that people assume that people pursuing professional course are more intelligent and smarter than people in an art and design course. Next time someone says Oh you are in a design course in a tone that puts you down and gives the look. Tell them this: Design is in everything you see in the world. From the moment you wake up, the alarm clock that wakes you you probably bought it because of the nice design, to the facebook page which design have changed every now and then, to the clothes you wear, to the car you ride in, to the phone you are using. Think of it. Designers are very influential people. The whole world doesnt realise it because we convince people not through our mouths but with our visuals. Many people watched a trailer of a movie and think its a good movie but after watching it realise it sucks. Thats a multimedia designers work. Many people buy sweets and chocolates because of their packaging. Thats a packaging designers work. Designers that design brand logos like coca cola, nike, apple left their imprint in the minds of people around the world because in logo trivia design mobile app games people are able to guess the brand by just looking at a tiny part of the logo. We are influential in a subtle way, in a way people are not aware of. Designers have the power to change the world, the way of how people live, the way people view things. Plus, if we fail we dont have a risk of killing people like surgeons failed operations, or a faulty calculation an engineer made that made a bridge collapse. If we fail, things just doesnt look good and not able to convince people to take action but no one gets killed, no one gets hurt seriously. The bad design probably hurts their eyes and thats it.
