#149 IT’s not Revert you pervert! Please revert”, “Revert if you have any question” ,” Revert me ASAP”, “ I am waiting for your Revert” and many more . Most of you I must say have, had encountered these above stated sentences in your official communication. I would like to exemplify here a very common proverb in Hindi language i.e. bhed chaal. This is one of the biggest folly I have ever noticed in this so called corporate where an individual do try to make out an impression in his or her communication just by imitating some fancy vocab learned from some preceding sheep yet completely oblivion of its usage. Or I should say they are enough reluctant to just open up even an online dictionary and figure out the meaning of that. But I must say If you have to award the most inappropriately used English word than none of them can beat the word ‘Revert’. People officially declared its usage: big words “REPLY” Revert: 1. to return to a former condition, practice, subject, or belief.2. Law To return to the former owner or to the former owners heirs. Used of money or property 3. to go back to a former practice, condition, belief, etc. she reverted to her old wicked ways So Revert doesn’t mean to reply. Stop misusing it
