14TH JULY A GREAT WEEKEND IN LONDON Yesterday we met with a marvelous group of Sierra Leonean Sisters and Brothers at St. John’s Church in South Wimbledon. What a tremendous time we had as we sang and I shared information about myself, Sierra Leone and the work of DISCET. These folks meet regularly and pray for our home country and you could sense the presence of God’s Spirit in the fellowship. I am certainly glad I made their acquaintances, and they will be on my distribution list of people who pray for me and my work. The session was followed by a prolonged time of prayer and we closed the meeting with a feast. I was blessed in a great way. Today I topped things up with a visit to the Walworth Methodist Church where The Reverend Eric Mustapha is Senior Circuit Minister. Talk about being proud and blessed! Today was The Ghana Fellowship’s 25th Thanksgiving Service. The service was colorful and the singing fantastic. And the food after service was wonderful. It was good to see a former student of mine thriving in ministry here in London. Eric is the one who started our one and only UB Church in Europe, the church in Berlin, Germany. He has been at this present church for 12 years. It was rewarding to hear him tell the congregation as he introduced me, “All of you comment on how well I preach. Well, Bishop Simbo was my preaching instructor.” If you ever find yourself in London on a Sunday, you must go to the Walworth Methodist Church on Camberwell Road in London. It is a truly African, international church with folks from Ghana, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and the Caribbean Islands. I enjoyed every moment of it. This is the start of my last full week in London. I have a couple of days between engagements so I am hoping to go see my Sister Agnes Nyaah in Strasbourg, France if she will be around. I am planning to get on a bus and enjoy the ride under the English Channel.
