14th OP VIJAY DIWAS CELEBERATED AT DRASS WAR MEMORIAL KARGIL..... Mujtaba/Kargil/ 26-07-13: The 14th OP Vijay Diwas was celebrated at Drass War Memorial Kargil, in which GOC-in- C Northern Command Lt General Sanjeev Chachra was the chief guest and along with him others present includes former Army Chief General VP Malik, War Heroes, other Senior Officers of Indian Army and Local dignitaries Paid tribute to the martyrs of the OP Vijay during Kargil war in 1999.On the occasion scores of relatives of martyrs of Kargil war also participated in the ceremony of OP Vijay Diwas.During sanik samellan Lt Gen Sanjeev Chachra told that the victory of OP Vijay was a historical victory. He told that Indian Army has significantly strengthened its positions in Western Ladakh since 1999, as also enhanced its surveillance and response capabilities. The Northern command is well prepared, not only to deny our adversary and opportunity but also to respond suitably.He added on the Ladakh situation that in Eastern Ladakh while there have been report of incidents along the LAC with China, he assured that the existing border management procedures and mechanisms with the chines are well in place of Hotline, Flag meetings, and BPMs that enables to resolve issues peacefully. He concluded that the border sit is well under control.
