14th Sep 2014 WORD OF CAUTION FOR STUDENTS especially Girl Students of Kashmir who are currently outside the state: AVOID PROVIDING BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS TO ANYONE UNKNOWN TO YOU! I have come across couple of posts on #SocialMedia / #facebook offering financial assistance to (Girl) students in this hour of crisis, but due to rise in online Bank frauds in the recent past I felt the need for this post. Please note that there have been thousands of online Bank Frauds and they start with such kind of posts/emails/offers asking to share Bank Account details. Anyone can exploit such opportunity and misuse the information that you would provide. You may fell prey to such fraudulent and fake people. They may pull out money from your accounts anytime without you even knowing it. While it is true that your family will not be able to deposit money in your accounts and while it is also true that many of those offering the help may have best of intentions, it is advisable to borrow money from your “Friends cum Batchmates” / teachers in your colleges at this hour of crisis and return them the money once you receive it from your home. I am sure they will lend you the money. These hard times will not last. Have patience and everything will be fine Insha-Allah. Last but not the least If you have exchanged account details, kindly change your ATM Debit card PIN immediately. Also please don’t share CVV number that’s written on the reverse side of ATM card.
