$15,000 PDC Spectacular August 22-24, 2014 PDC Spectacular Qualifier 4 Sunday morning featured the start of the last qualifier for the final 8 players to join the 24 who had previously qualified through the first three qualifiers. The remaining players where excited and a bit nervous as this was their last chance to get into the main event later in the afternoon. Dan Olson was the first player to earn his spot in the last 32 defeating Vaughn Lightower, then Justin Fawcett and finally Richard Cuerrier. On the other side of the bracket, Mike Holt won his way into the final 32 on Sunday afternoon beating Karsten Larsen, Stephane Goyette and Kevin Thompson. Steve Warnock and Jayson Barlow came through there respective brackets. Warnock got by Jason Roker and then Stanley Snow, but he had trouble with Preston Noonan who took him the the final set before he sent him packing. Barlow took out Kenny Lawrence and Scott Jacques, but then had a very unfortunate situation where his opponent, Stuart Brown, failed to return to the board within the time frame and was disqualified. Dan Lauby had been on the cusp of making it through in all three of the previous qualifiers. Lauby beat Paul Allardyce in his first match and continued his winning ways with a win over Norman May. Then he defeated David Flowers who gave him the match of his tournament. Tom Smith had been close to earning his way into the final 32 through the first three qualifiers and finally managed to secure his spot in the 4th qualifier. Smith over came Johnny Kuczynski in his first match followed by Gary Vinicombe in his second match. He took out Ron Schmidt in his final match to gain entry into the last 32. In the final group, it was Lorne Langlais and Paul Carlsen who filled the last two spot in the final 32 of the main event. Langlais took out Daniel Collins, Fred Morgenroth and Dan Lauby II to earn his spot. Carlsen bested Jack Briggs, Michael Craig and Jim Anderson in his final charge.
