15-22 Veterans in America commit sucide everyday due to PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) Yet this country is more concerned showing its people how Miley Cyrus looks sleezy on stage, or how Justin Bieber gets a slap on the hand. These men and women put their life on the line to come home to a VA system that will prescribe them highly addictive and high-risk opiates which also create suicidal thoughts before a proper evaluation. So lets do some math.. 15 suicides a day. 5 days in a week. Thats 75 cases in one week, 300 a month, 3,600 a year. If this keeps up, in 9 years the amount of veteran suicides will equal the amount of US casualties in the Iraq conflict. Im speaking from outside the spectrum, i do not personally know what it is like to be put in the type of situation and putting my life on the line for my country. But from a civilian stand-point this is utterly unacceptable, these people need real help, not a Xanax or Zoloft, etc. Yet were to worried about what the Kardashians are doing for the summer. To all the veterans, you are the true idols and heroes. I would rather spend my time with you instead of Lebron James or Peyton Manning. Happy Memorial Day guys, your efforts do not go unnoticed.
