15 August, 2014 Dear Mommy, First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I LOVE YOU. It has been almost half my life since I have seen you and I miss you every day of my life. You were my best friend and most strategic foe, and you made me a very strong sparring partner. I thank you for that. Do you remember when we went to Bermuda for Elise’ wedding? You were sooo afraid to get on the moped that I had to convince you that we were only going to ‘take a spin’ around the parking lot. I do not regret that I lied to you about that, as I remember your shrieks of laughter, sitting behind me on that moped, as we toured the entire island. And we laughed together, so heartily, that we were barely containable. And, we swam, with Kitsie, wondering what the poor folks were doing. That was such a hoot, wasn’t it? Life, without you, has been quite wretched and I wonder how much better it might have been had you been here. I have only my imagination. I remember that I disrespected you one (ONE) time, when I was about 13. I never did that again and I am sure that you forgave me for my mistake. Thank you. Do you remember the one time (the only time) that I beat you at Canastsa? Boy oh boy, were you a sore loser that night! But, after that, you whooped my butt at every game! Mom…did you just let me win that hand to keep me in the game? Cheeky monkey!! I do not want to interrupt your life celebration in Heaven, but I really need your help right now. And, if you please, please tell Warrie and Kitsie that I need their help, too. I am not going to say much more because I think that you all know. I may be faltering, but I am still standing. I am not clear on what GOD has in mind for me. So, if you, Kitsie and Warren could kindly put in a good word for me, I will surely appreciate your help. I love you. I need you. I cannot wait for the blessed day to see all of you soon. But, I do not think it will be soon enough. Would you kindly ask GOD how much dues I have yet to pay? Nah, never mind that part.
