15 GRACYALNY, ARNESON TO “MIX IT UP” WITH BADGER STOCK TOUR JULY 17-19 by Bill on July 15, 2013 at 4:38 pm Posted In: Badger Stock Tour, Joe Verdegan (Green Bay, WI) July 15 – Greenville’s Danny Gracyalny and Oconto Falls Eric “Chummy” Arneson are among the latest local drivers to sign up for the Iron Horse Sales & Service Badger Stock Tour presented by Kick Ass Drive Train & Iron Horse Recycling. The BST kicks off with the “Iron Horse Ironman tour” Sunday, July 17 at Seymour Speedway. The swing will hit Thunder Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay Thursday and wrap up Friday night at Oshkosh Speedzone. The second-generation driver has pretty much raced anything with four tires and a motor in his career, on both dirt and asphalt. His last track championship came at 141 Speedway in the Tisler Salvage street stocks in 2011. Gracyalny will be the hired gun for Barry Van Straten’s Van Straten’s Automotive #77 Wolfe chassis. At Seymour Tri Oval in 1997 Gracyalny won an IMCA stock car and IMCA modified feature in the same night. “With the stock car you can get a little more aggressive as it’s a little more forgiving,” said Gracyalny, who’s only raced his street stock once this year. “Barry put the car in fourth place at Seymour Sunday night, so the car is fine. We’ll just see what the driver can do.” For Arneson it will be a return to fendered cars, something he hasn’t done since his street stock days in the early 2000’s. Arneson will wheel Troy Muench’s #52 Terminator chassis sponsored by Olson Fabrication and Arneson Shock Services. Arneson finished 6th in the feature at Seymour Sunday night. “I do Troy’s shocks for him and we got to talking one night at Luxemburg,” said Arneson. “I love watching the class, its so close and competitive. The payoff is real decent so we thought we’d give it a try.” Arneson won IMCA northern sportmod titles at Thunder Hill Raceway and Luxemburg. “I never even won a feature in a street stock before, but I had a lot of laps at Seymour in my street stock. It should be a fun deal.” 40+ MEMBERS – With the BST membership roster now at 40, a car count of between 45-50 cars is expected for the BST opener at Seymour. Teams will be put to the test not only by the three night grind at Seymour, Thunder Hill and Oshkosh but also by Mother Nature, as temperatures are expected to be in the 90’s for the balance of the week. LONG HAULERS – It’s doubtful anyone will be able to match the long haul that the father-son duo of Steve and Jake Lunderby will have to chase the BST Ironman Swing. They will be towing all the way from Sidney, Montana. The pair compete weekly at Williston Basin Speedway in Williston,North Dakota and at Nodak Speedway in Minot, North Dakota. The pair recently competed in IMCA’s Dakota Classic Tour. A point fund that pays $1,000 to the winner and 20 positions deep is set for the BST. In addition, another $1,000 is up for grabs in the Iron Horse IronMan midsummer swing. $700-to-win features will highlight races each night at tracks in Seymour, Sturgeon Bay and Oshkosh, respectively. An additional point fund for this swing will pay five spots deep, with the overall three race swing winner receiving a cool $1,000 You can follow the BST on Facebook or email [email protected].
