15 We have a foundation… “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” II Timothy 2:19 Jesus told the story of the wise man and the foolish man. The wise man built his house upon the rock and when the winds and rain came the house stood firm. The foolish man built his house on the sand, and Christ said, “And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” (Matthew 7:27) We are all going to face stormy weather. We may have to go through financial struggles, sickness, or the loss of loved ones. Will you be able to stand when troubles come? What is your life founded on? Many put their trust in their wealth, but sickness for an extended time can wipe out bank accounts and make it impossible to work again. Businesses can fall,… acquaintances can fail. You can be destroyed in an automobile crash, or a stock market crash. You can’t put your trust in the things of this world. Build on the solid foundation. Our scripture tells us that the Lord knows them that are His and I had rather be known by the Lord than any person on this earth.
