15 YEARS AGO TODAY YOU COULDNT EVEN GIVE AWAY TICKETS TO THIS SHOW: Fall Brawl 99 - Winston-Salem, NC - Lawrence Joel Coliseum - September 12, 1999 (7,491; 3,347 paid; 4,144 freebies, many of which didnt show) Pay-per-view bouts - featured Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, & Mike Tenay on commentary: Rey Mysterio Jr., Billy Kidman, & Eddie Guerrero defeated Vampiro & the Insane Clown Posse at 14:15 when Kidman pinned Vampiro with the Shooting Star Press following a missile dropkick from Guerrero; during the bout, Mysterio appeared to suffer a knee injury; after the contest, Kidman, Guerrero, and the trainer helped Mysterio backstage Lenny Lane pinned Kaz Hayashi Hugh Morrus & Brian Knobbs defeated Dean Malenko & Shane Douglas in a No DQ match; Douglas suffered a slightly torn bicep during the match WCW TV Champion Rick Steiner pinned Perry Saturn Berlyn pinned Jim Duggan (sub. for Buff Bagwell) Harlem Heat defeated WCW Tag Team Champions Barry & Kendall Windham to win the titles Sid Vicious pinned WCW US Champion Chris Benoit to win the title with the powerbomb at 11:50 after avoiding the diving headbutt; Vicious undefeated streak: 80-0 Bill Goldberg pinned Diamond Dallas Page Sting defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan to win the title at 13:56 with the Scorpion Death Lock after Sting repeatedly hit Hogan with a baseball bat brought ringside by Lex Luger; following Hogans entrance, the two men shook hands; prior to the bout, Bret Hart appeared and briefly met with both men about wanting a title shot against the winner; late in the bout, Hogan hit the boot to the face and legdrop on the challenger but Diamond Dallas Page appeared, knocked down referee Nick Patrick, hit the Diamond Cutter on Hogan and then Patrick; moments later, Hart returned to clear Page from ringside; Hogan then cleared WCW US Champion Sid Vicious from the ring; Luger then appeared with the baseball bat, with Hogan cornering him until Sting came up from behind with the bat and assaulted Hogan before throwing the bat to Luger; after the contest, Sting and Luger left ringside together
