15 years ago today I married Jason Silva. The year we got married we encountered more emotional stressors then some have during their whole marriage. We lost two grandmothers, a brother and a mother. There was job changes, unexpected moves, and a challenging pregnancy. I think I can safely say it was the hardest year of both our lives. We survived and came through stronger then ever. Weve had bumps since then, ones that would rock others worlds, but it we could always say we made it through that first year we can make it through anything. Each year on our anniversary we usually spend it with our kids. Nothing fancy, usually kid centered. Things like hiking in Eastport, Sesame Place in PA, 9/11 memorial, Dianas Bath and more. Today we wont be with the kids, we wont be at any parks or vacations, but we are on an amazing journey. Its a little scary, sometimes overwhelming, but amazing none the less. We are headed to Lahey for pre-op. My husband, who can be sarcastic and slightly immature, is going to be doing the most amazing thing I can even imagine. He is trying to help save a life. We are both listed as organ donors, but living organ donation has never crossed my mind. I dont know if it crossed his, but when he heard that a little girl, someone we know, was in need, he IMMEDIATELY started trying to see if he was a match and he is. So today, as we celebrate 15 years of marriage, I will finally say for everyone to hear it, you really are a Super Hero, capable of healing others with your body parts. (Insert Jasons inappropriate jokes). I LOVE YOU AND I AM SO VERY PROUD!!
