15 years ago today, was a normal day like any other. Nothing is going to happen. This day has altered my life and should alter the lives of everyone in Law Enforcement. Regardless of the reasons why God called such a great man home, there is always something to learn. Whether it be spiritual or logical, ( however you interpret things ) that even though youre doing everything right, youre not invincible and at the mercy of our Heavenly Father. That you, yourself can change your fate or your fate has been chosen for you. I have held this day near to my heart and have been constantly reminded of it. How could God let such things happen, one might ask. God has blessed us all with free will. Whether it works in our favour or not, that is questionable. The Man upstairs knows what you will do, before you do it. Things do not surprise him. What happens when you surprise yourself? Is this another simple alarm, suspicious circumstance, or is this the day God has chosen to test you? One will never know. I am asking all my brothers and sisters to be safe, error on the side of caution. Do not ignore your gut feelings and do what needs to be done. R.I.P. Deputy Eric Andrew Thatch, I remember your funeral like it was yesterday and still carry the sorrow for your family in my heart.
