Bushs lawyers asked the U.S. Supreme Court to bring legal finality to the presidential election by ending any further ballot recounts in Florida; Vice President Al Gores lawyers counter that the U.S. Supreme Court should not interfere in Floridas recount process. Instead of asking for a recount of the entire state of Florida, Gore has asked for a recount in heavily Democratic counties, which has caused Bush to claim that the recount is not being conducted in an equal manner.
