16:12:2014 THE PARTY CHAIRMAN ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC), KATSINA STATE CHAPTER. Sir, OBSERVATION WITH REGARDS THE UNITY AND SUCCESS OF APC IN KATSINA STATE. With due respect and humility, we of the above named association All Progressives Youth Forum (APYF) are bonafide members of our great party second to none in APC, our membership cut across the nation and under the office of the APC national youth leader. We contributed immensely towards the formation of the structure of APC in Katsina State. Firstly, since the proposal of merger we become engage in educating and entitling our people of its significance through our members up to the polling unit level. Secondly during the membership card registrations exercise the APYF took the lead as 90% of those who participated in conducting the said exercise are member of APYF and based on sacrifice with out a dine paid to them. Thirdly, we are the field agents that conducted all the congresses that bring in leaders of the party in Katsina state. However, at this juncture it’s our duty to see to the success of the party in Katsina State, at all levels due to the sacrifices we have made. Mr Chairman Sir, in as much as we appreciate the effort of the party leadership in conducting primary elections, in the whole state its also our reservation and opinion which we are bold to say as follows: In funtua zone during the conduct of senatorial primary election three lives were lost and delegates dispersed with teargas which lead to every body running for his life and the delegates did not come back to continue the election and to one dismay the result announced without the conduct of same. In Mashi/Dutsi constituency trouble caused while votes were being counted and nobody punished by the party for same. In Kankara/Faskari/Sabuwa constituency, contestant who duly filled and submitted his expression of interest and nomination form which make him a bonafide contestant as he have fulfilled the party requirement but to one dismay the party at the state level denied him to took part in the election and no agent was accorded to him all on the ground that he did not pay an amount called contribution by the party which must of the contestants were not even aware of as the party did not communicate same to them but he was meant to suffer for it. Similarly, a lot of anomalies happened during the conduct of the said primaries we press towards the mark. In other words the party leadership ought to quickly take action in resolve to up hold the unity and keep to the ethics of the party and its manifesto. The party ought to immediately after the conduct of all primaries particularly the governorship form a committee to pacify and ally all the contestants which is in other words will bring together all aggrieved parties to forge ahead in the best interest of the party. To design a best way and strategy of resolving the differences between parties at all levels. To design campaign strategy and innovations for secondary election. With humility, ours is not a critic but rather a complement to accord each and every one according to his own status. In 2007 and 2011 simultaneously, PDP tormented the opposition party in Katsina State with the system of divide and rule, which was one of the major reason why the opposition could not form government in the State, that cannot and should not be over looked. In other words the internal conflict in the opposition party must be minimize to enable the APC form government in Katsina State. We equally implore the chairman and his cabinet to always put the will of the people (congress) first in making any decision, if we want to seem to come to an agreement, its more important than meets the eye. We repeat categorically, that first and foremost, it’s the unity within the party itself that will give it strength and will to face PDP its major contender. This is exactly why we are trying so desperately to stop the segregation and bias been meted in the party in our state. Because, ones the rain loosens, it is difficult to get a hold of it again. Conclusively, we should up hold the fact that time is limited and we must do our best in our given conditions, particularly worry on how to win, that is our desperate plea for internal justice, peace, equity and harmony within the party. We should remain friends not foes. All the gain and losses must be calculated thoroughly and make a careful decision. If you want to gain one thing you must loose another, please consider and think wisely in making decision for the masses of APC and Katsina State at large. Allah the almighty is the judge, and we pray that, HE continue to guard, guide and protect our humble party and make us winners in all election come 2015, Insha Allah We rest our case.
