16.3.2014 at 9:00 AM!Police Commissioner of Rakhine state&District Immigration Officer of Sittwe,U Win Naing made a meeting with Rohingya Community leaders in Madrasah(Basic Arabic school) of Southern Dar Paing village,Sittwe,Arkan.During the meeting,Police Commissioner said Census is to collect population of a country,it is done once every after ten years in a country.It was done in Myanmar in 1973 and 1983.And then,stopped for 30 years.Now govt is going to do it soon.So,every one has to participate in this census.This is a good chance for publics of Myanmar for govt is going to do it.I want u all to answer 41 question of census truthfully.I wanna က(Kagyi) to say က(Kagyi) not to say ခ(Kha Khwe) in census.It wont be better to wrongly.It needs not to happen any problem during census and to be completed successfully and smoothly.If any problem happens,you may have to wait for ten years again. Then,District Immigration officer Win Naing said You are allowed to write and say freely what you want for answer of 41question.None can take any action regarding answers of census questions. So,I hope you would participate in census. Then a session of discussing was made,after they had talked about census. RHG Community:We need a committee of census to do campaign in villages about census because most of our communities dont know well about census and worrying about questions of census.So this committee can explain about census to them clearly. Police Commissioner!It is good idea!we agree it. RHG Community!we can guarantee that no problem will happen if what we want was written in census.e.g We will tell to write Rohingya in column of race in census.If it is written,no problem will happen.If it is not written,it is sure that problem will happen Police Commissioner:You had better put your ethnic name that was registered by govt.for example,you all were registered as Bengali ethnic by govt.A code number was recognized for Bengali ethnic.Only one code for all unregistered ethnics.So you cant get code number if u want unregistered ethnic name. RHG Community:Regarding police commissioner reply above,we are not Bengali and we will never accept Bengali.We were Rohingyas many years ago,are Rohingyas now and will be Rihingyas future.We have a lot of documents and historical evidence of Rohingya citizenship.We have given many documents of Rohingya to govt.It is sure that problem will happen if Rohingya ethnic name is not written in census.If it is written,no problem will happen and no need to discuss about census.Everything will be successfully and smoothly completed if Rohingya ethnic name is freely written in census. Police commissioner:Ok!you are allowed to write and say openly and freely in census.You will be taken neither any action nor scared. Meeting was over at 11:00 AM
