16 December 2014 Recently I was asked to teach on the subject of “HOLINESS,” and I must admit that I approached the subject with great care. The reason was because so much of the teaching that I have heard on the subject of “HOLINESS” has been from a position of “LEGALISM,” – a list of “DO’s and DON’Ts,” in an attempt to “MEASURE UP” to God’s standards. As I was preparing to teach, I was reminded of these words from the Psalms: “Your WORD I have hidden in my HEART, that I might not SIN against You.” As I prepared to teach, I was led back to the word “HEART.” For me, “HOLINESS” is an issue of the “HEART,” not the ability to live by a list of “DO’s and DON’Ts.” I have discovered that everything concerning the Christian life is an issue of the “HEART.” What does this mean to our every day walk with God? It means that if our “HEARTS” are right toward God and His “WORD,” our lifestyle will be right. The “WORD” working in us changes the “HEART” to the extent that “SIN” has no place in us. Child of God, I want to encourage you today concerning your life of “HOLINESS.” When the “WORD” comes alive in you, your choices change; your actions change; your language changes; everything changes. All of this is the result of the “WORD” working in you. “The ‘WORD’ is working mightily in me, the ‘WORD’ is working mightily in me. No matter what the circumstances, what I feel or see, the ‘WORD’ is working mightily in me.”
