16 Thats how many years ago I first smelled the skin of a fresh human who had grown inside me. Tiny tufts of blondie hair adorned her crown, her skin that was soft and newly exposed to the environment was milky and rosy at the same time, her eyelashes pressed slightly down and outwards from being in such a tight space framed her eyes that peered straight into my soul the minute we held a gaze...the little noises she made... I remember being afraid because I didnt want to be my parents. I remember looking at this child and thinking that she was just a little acorn with an entire tree inside of her ~ how amazing! I didnt even know what I was doing when I put her to my breast and felt her pull her sustenance from me ~ but I felt in awe of her knowledge of how to survive, and hearing her baby suckling noises nearly broke my heart. I just didnt know it would be like that...
