16 Then Cain went away from the presence of the LORD and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. 17 Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. When he built a city, he called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch. Ive read multiple translations and not one says Cain went to dwell with people in the land of Nod. All it says is that he lived in the land of Nod. It is he who builds a city there. This may help those who have wondered how Cain being one of the first humans could have gone to a city. There was no city in Nod. It was Cain who built a city.
