160 YOUTHS TO BENEFIT FROM IHEDIOHA / FUTO EMPOWERMENT PARTNERSHIP: One hundred and sixty youths drawn from outstanding youths agencies in Imo state will benefit from the 1st batch of youths empowerment programme organise by Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha in partnership wit Federal University of Technology(FUTO). The empowerment programme will be implemented through the centre for entrepreneur studies in FUTO. Speaking during the formal announcement of the partnership agreement between FUTO and the office of the deputy speaker, the deputy speaker, ably represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Relations, Sir Bright Nwelue stressed that FUTO was choose because of its academic excellence and expertise. Nwelue who said that the formal inauguration of the youth empowerment will kick off on 28th and 30th of Jan where Ihedioha will address the beneficiaries, added that the interest of the deputy speaker was to empower the youths who are drivers of tomorrow. The senior special assistant said Ihedioha is not only representing Ngor-Okpala and Aboh Mbaise federal constituency but also Imo state, stressing that the youth empowerment project was part of the constituency programme actualise through Training and Research Development initiated by HIM into the federal budget. Earlier in his speech, the management of the institution led by the representative of the vice chancellor, Prof. F.C. Eze, (D.V.C. Admin), said that it was the first time the office of the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives will find it worthy to teach the youths on how to fish and not give them fish. He added that FUTO is an institution technologically driven. Speaking also the Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, Prof. N.C. Nwazeaku said the empowerment will centers on value re-orientation for self independence, wealth creation, employment generation including production of detergent, liquid odour control, management of finances and other areas, maintaining that the sections would also be divided into two, technical skill and management skill.
