But, it is also horrible when a dad pays over $1k per month for one child plus insurance and then the child says hes not allowed to play the sport he loves because mom says it costs $100 for the year. Then, dad is also asked to pay for school clothes, school supplies, etc. while mom and step-dad smoke and drink but child only gets the clothes, shoes, etc. that dad buys in addition to the $1k+ in child support every month. No, dad has not and will not quit his job despite the fact that not a damn dime he pays benefits his child. Courts dont care. Mom and step-dad lie and collect food stamps even though both have jobs. Plus, you would not believe all of the crap that the child is told about the dad. Guess what? It took two people to have a child and both (yes, even the mother) have a duty to support that child. Texas needs to start requiring documentation of how at least 50% of child support is spent directly on the child. Because in a lot of cases, the child benefits very little from child support.
