17/30 August -- Commemoration of the birth in 1917 of H.I.H. the Grand Duke Vladimir Kirillovich of Russia, Head of the Russian Imperial House (de jure Sovereign Emperor and Autocrat of all the Russias). H.I.H. was born in the Grand Duchy of Finland while it was still part of the Russian Empire, on the estate of Haikko near the town of Borgo. He was the only son of Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich and his wife Grand Duchess Victoria Feodorovna, and at birth had the title of H.H. Prince of the Blood Imperial. In 1924, on his fathers assumption of the rights and duties of the throne, he was elevated to the rank of Grand Duke.
