17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer hopes to show best performance in the upcoming clay court season, where he was schedule to play his first clay court tournament at Mutua Madrid Masters next month. Former World number one Roger Federer is going to prepare well for the Davis Cup tie against Kazakhstan this week in Geneva and he will return back to action to lead his nation in men’s singles and doubles in front of home fans. Swiss Maestro has won Mutua Madrid Masters title for three times so far in his career, as he won previous titles in 2006, 2009 and 2012. Roger Federer will have to face difficult challenge against king of clay Rafael Nadal and six-time major title winner Novak Djokovic in Mutua Madrid Masters, which will kick off from 5th to 11th May at the Park Manzanares in Madrid. It is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the 2013 ATP World Tour. Federer also improved his ranking points to move couple of places to fourth place in the latest ATP Rankings announced by the ATP World Tour on Monday. Later, Federer will travel to Rome to take part in the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, before heading to the 2014 French Open championship at Roland Garros.
