170-172-174 Nagle Avenue between Dyckman & Academy Sts. in Inwood. Interesting building that shares the same type of architectural style that its neighbor around the corner on Post Avenue at 1-3-5 has but in a much less satisfactory way. Its sanitation is deplorable and unsafe for all as shown in accompanying pics. This was a Sunday afternoon which could account for the trash pickup not having been accomplished but how the trash is collected for pickup leaves many questions unanswered? Here it lays bagged up, placed in metal garbage cans spilling over, loosely scattered around the courtyard and what used to be a lovely garden area enclosed within its concrete sides. Its a 3-building unit that has seen better days but still has the structural integrity to attact tenants to any of its 3 buildings. That said, it needs a complete overhaul of the trash collection and storage methods, and probably a new super. L-R: the building entrance with ugly paint job but still lovely filigreed steel entry gate, a closer view of the lovely steel gate and hallway leading to the courtyard and residential building entrances, 172 entrance, the short lobby and staircase to 172, the bagged garbage and loose trash contained within what used to be a lovely garden enclosure in the courtyard, the view exiting the courtyard which has bagged trash and what-have-you in abundance, and finally the long view of the courtyard with the former garden enclosure to the left ...
