17380 female But watches with curiosity as if saying to herself, okay this time Ill get the courage to let people pet me. It hasnt happened. With Christmas approaching it was time to help her. She deserves a home with a family to gently love her. People can be good. I opened adjoining kennel do she could watch me. I slowly climbed through the passage way and sat without approaching her about. 6 inches away. She laid down and was relaxed, no anxiety. She has seen me visit her kennel many days so I wasnt a stranger. The first time I met her she did allow me to put a scarf around her for a photo. Today I patiently sat. After 10 minutes, I spoke softly to her. I realized others needed to see this so I videotaped it. She allowed me to rub her head, gently her back and even her paws. She wasnt shaking at all. I turned off the video and lifted her into my lap. Again, no fear. I sat with her like that about 45 minutes. I hugged her tightly, let her feel human contact was okay. I see her worry as the large dogs bark. As most dogs who have never been in a shelter do. She came in as a stray. She is clean with soft short fur. Floppy ears. No owner came. She has been at the shelter too long. I would love a couple, with gentle children ( I know they exist ) with a low-key home to offer her a forever home. First, a bed if her own to adjust in. Some space to see what is going on. A fenced yard or time for gentle leash training. She allows all touch she needs a gentle hand. She is petite. Not a typical lab mix. She has healthy teeth of a young dog. Please, special loving quiet couple with gentle family, meet her. She will be reserved at first. May even go to other side. But she will warm up to you. I would take her home myself but with two senior dogs including one I rescued in August who is deaf and mostly blind not an ideal environment for her. This girl (I call Holly- but she goes by ID# here) will be an amazing pet to a loving home. Im posting this on this site which his mine alone. Msg me with any questions. I believe she will be fine with dogs as long as they too let her emerge from the shell she closed herself into. I am also posting photos of me with her. Many Blessings for reading! Pamela Pearlman.
