1776, thats the year and it is 238 years old. Americas Independence. Where as its only 67years for us. In 1776 was every American declared free ? No, it was only for the white ones. But in 1947 every Indian became free irrespective of caste, color or religion. It took a civil war to abolish Slavery in the United States of America. We didnt have slaves in independent India. Even after the Civil war got over it was white & colored people. It took decades to get equal rights for everyone in America. Who has ever benefited out of discrimination? It took 233 years till Barrack Obama became President in 2009. Zakir Hussain became our president in 1967, in 20years post Independence. BR Ambedkar was an untouchable. He was our first law minister & one among those who wrote our constitution. We named this country India and declared it secular when our neighboring countries declared themselves as muslim countries. We started off 100steps ahead of them. Religious fanaticism has never helped anyone. Surprisingly, today I get a message from one of my educated friends - Taazi khabar Indore leads the way for all Hindus, no Muslims allowed during navratri garbha. People have to furnish documents stating individuals religion Just a tiny step in the right direction ....... Is this really the right direction? Are we going ahead or going back? Instead of wasting our time in such things why dont we think of education poverty improvement. That would actually help this country. Bring improvement in the far east. Thats also a part of this country. Extreme laws or rules or power in the hands of majority. If you support that remember in time you can be minority too. How do you feel being judged by the shariyat law in a middle eastern country? I was told I will not understand and honestly I dont wish to understand. Being a Hindu I am proud that my country is secular and not a Hindu country. I fear if we go on like this one day the Hindu version of Talibans will be ruling this country. They had burkha we will have ghunghat.
