18 Aug 68 Warrant Officer James Doyle Eisenhour was KIA while responding to a call for extraction from a hot LZ what was thought to be a a fallen LRRP team member. A seasoned GUNSHIP Pilot in the air that day is going to write a book based on the life of my Brother Jim. He cannot do that without your help. Those who knew him and those who flew with him and you know who you are. Dig deep in those failing memories and help him tell the story. You are the ones with the experiences, memories and anecdotes that when put together will tell the story a young American Aviator. This book is in my sincere opinion a selfless labor of love laced with honor for Jims sacrifice Go deep and keep in mind nothing you remember or say will hurt us Jims family or make him less dead. What he attempted to do that day has had a lasting effect on many of you and I appreciate all you did that day to insure a safe return to Bearcat. For those of you that choose not to come forward with your accounts of the events that resulted in JIMs death and a CE severely wounded step up and be the man that survived to fight another day.
