18 July 2013 The beginning of each Rotary year is always an exciting and refreshing event, with new set of officers, a new theme to work with, and a renewed sense of purpose to serve mankind. This particular year, RY 2013-2014 is of course, truly significant as we are guided by our District Theme “Engage Rotary, Change Lives”. To jump-start her administration, our D3790 Governor Linda Winter launched a district-wide program dubbed: “Tree-planting Project” as a kick off activity in line with the environmental concern in our country to protect mother Earth from forest devastation due to illegal logging traders. Cluster 3A clubs did their part last June 30, 2013 @ the NOLCOM, Camp Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac. A follow up tree-planting activity was ensued in Colibangbang, Paniqui, Tarlac on July 10, 2013. RCNTians with other private orgs and NGOs jointly planted mahogany seedlings along the riverbank of this area. Last July 06, a second part of RCNT’s Zumba Fitness project had been carried out due to the persistent demand of some Zumbagoers. In response, this wellness & fitness program will now be a regular activity every Saturday from 8:00-10:00 in the morning. Our sincere gratitude to AG Willie Pascual for gracing our 2nd regular weekly meeting as our Club’s guest of honor & speaker last July 11, 2013. He stressed out the District’s goal, mission and vision for this RY 2013-2014 and invites every Rotarian to attend an orientation seminar at the La Maja Rica Hotel in Tarlac City. I encourage you fellow RCNTians, to join us and be rotarized. Please be reminded everyone to settle our obligation to Rotary International by paying our membership fees (SAR). July 18, 2013 is the final date in paying the semi annual dues. Global team leaders, family and friends of the late PDG Manny Yu once again assembled at Yu’s mausoleum in Paniqui Memorial Park to commemorate his 54th birthday. Global president PP Lolit Co mingled with her colleagues as they have photo ops with Lady Josie during fellowship. Lady Josie wish to extend her great appreciation to those who attended the occasion and offered prayers for his loving spouse, Doc Manny. Our sister club, RC Urdaneta North invites us for a friendly basketball game on July 19, (Friday) 4:30pm at the Balikbayan Hall, Urdaneta City. We have to practice hard for this match. RCUN players are tough and giant ones. Anyways, good luck RCNTians! PP Danny T. Rojo, PHF Club Secretary RY 2013-2014
