18) Lumpy Gravy (Excerpts) This edit features two of the orchestral sections from Frank Zappas first solo album, Lumpy Gravy, originally briefly released on Capitol Records in 1967, then rereleased on Verve in 1968 after legal wrangling and re-editing using additional material. It features The Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, featuring Bunk Gardner, Emil Richards, Tommy Tedesco and Ken Shroyer, among others, and the Chorus (not heard here) includes Bruce Hampton, Harold Kelling and Glenn Phillips, in addition to featuring Roy Estrada, Spider Barbour, All Night John, Motorhead Sherwood and Louie The Turkey engaging in strange conversations inside a piano. The main musical theme here eventually wound up as the vehicle for the lyrics to the song Oh No, which appeared on the album Weasels Ripped My Flesh. The theme also showed up in several other settings, including 1974s Son Of Orange County from the album Roxy And Elsewhere. TG #DailyZappa
