18. SENIOR ACCOUNTANT. REF: NCA/18/02/2013 (1 Position) The Position Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the job holder will be responsible for assisting in managing financial plans and all accounting activities and practices of the Authority. Key Responsibilities; Maintain up to date books of accounts for the Authority. Ensure adherence to general acceptable accounting standards and principles. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Assist in preparation of annual budgets. Consolidation of county offices monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Coordination of responses to audit queries. Monitor the Authority’s cash flows and provide regular cash flow position reports as required. Support in Authority’s treasury management. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Petty cash and imprest/travel/business advances processing. Payroll management. Ensure integrity of the general ledger and reconciliation of Authority’s books. Liaising with the Authority’s auditors on the Authority’s audits (external and internal). Any other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director. Qualifications, Experience, Competencies; Holder of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Commerce or any other Business related option. Be a qualified accountant with ACCA or CPA (K) professional qualifications. Have at least 5 years relevant working experience in a busy accounting environment. Have excellent communication, analytical and reporting skills. Have very good Microsoft Excel and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) management skills. Be mature, diligent and able to work under pressure A Masters Degree with a bias in Accounting or Finance will be an added advantage.
