18 September 2014 Elsa Chyrum revisited the site where she spent three days from March 24 - March 26 2014, during her hunger strike in protest of the illegal, unjust and incommunicado detention of 267 Eritrean refugees in Djibouti. Some were detained up to six years under harsh conditions, and two died due to negligence. As there is no Djiboutian embassy in London, UK, where she resides, she was forced to travel to Geneva, Switzerland to stage her three day hunger strike. The 267 Eritrean refugees were released as the result of her hunger strike.
