18 years ago today I was lying in a bed at university Hospital in Birmingham Alabama on strict bed rest. It was early morning my husband had spent the night and just left for work and the nurse came in and hooked me up to the fetal monitor just like every morning and left the room. I laid there just listening to my babys heart beating, it was a reassuring sound. I was only 28 weeks in to my pregnancy. Then I noticed the heart rate was slowing, the nurse came back with what seemed 10 other people. Stay calm she said we are going to check you it looks like you might be having contractions. Well sure enough I was and had dilated 5 cm. The cord is around the babys neck and since there was no amniotic fluid to float the cord they wanted to do an emergency c-section. They called my husband and he made it back just in time to be in the O.R. with me. It seemed like it flew by but it was 6:00 P.M. before the Lord blessed us with a 3 lb. 10 oz. Baby boy that would steal our hearts. What a fighter. Me and Daddy are truly blessed and very proud that you are our baby boy! Happy 18th birthday Matthew Tucker! I love you to the moon and back xoxo
