18th December As we continue the week please remember the 1st of the weeks words for they involve all (entertain strangers: Hebrews 13 verse 1 + 2) that has been spoken of this week. Jesus even told us how we should give to the needy (Matthew 6 v 1-4, please read it). We see this done more and more in the way people give to foodbank for those in need. Yes I am smiling, not because there is need for help, but for the thousands who regularly give to foodbank to bless others. Even at Christmas time, people giving special treats to show their love, yet we do not know who is doing the giving. When I think of Jesus words in these verses, I often think beside the reward of the Father for our giving in secret, it is also that those who need the help dont feel awful in asking for help. If you think it is easy on any of them, think again. Many have children and are desperate when they get to this point. I am thankful for all who work in the foodbanks, giving their time. A sad reflection of how things are is the fact they need more volunteers to help share their time. I wonder if the Lord has slipped an Angel in on times, to receive the gifts and know that for all who give and receive? The giving with the heart of Love, which is Jesus! Lord I want to thank everyone who has given food to help others, I pray all who receive will be totally blessed and share the love that has been given to them with others. Thank you for the kindness and generosity being shown without others knowing where and who has provided all.
