19:23-27 Job had reached the lowest point a person can come to. - TopicsExpress

19:23-27 Job had reached the lowest point a person can come to. Totally forsaken, it seemed, by both God and man. Out of this darkness, Job cried out one of the most triumphant declarations of faith in all of the Old Testament, prefaced by his desire that these words might be indelibly recorded. "For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God." Faith can triumph over the darkest night! It is turning our eyes from the situation and unto God. Job turned away from his desperate condition, his own physical condition of misery, and focused on God. When we go through problems, often we become filled with self-pity and think, Oh, poor me. The more you think, Oh, poor me, the poorer you become as you concentrate on yourself. The secret is turning your eyes upon the Lord and getting a fresh view of Him. Faith does not look at circumstances. Faith looks to God who is greater than the circumstances.
