19.8 Pounds and 4.7% body fat GONE in 6 weeks! Denise story is a must read…. a full-time worker and single mom of two who recently went through multiple procedures to dramatically reduce her risk for cancer and save her life….she made no excuses Although I have dieted off and on throughout my life, my real journey toward a healthier lifestyle began in July 2013 when I discovered Fit Body Bootcamp. At first, I thought that I would just try it out for six weeks and then work on my own using what I learned. However, I was addicted from the start. As a single mother of two young children, I was most excited by the aspect of completing my workout in half an hour. I was very skeptical about the results that this would produce considering that I often spent hours in the gym without seeing the weight come off. After a couple of weeks, however, I was a firm believer in the workouts and the afterburn period. The workouts were extremely tiring, but the euphoria afterwards is amazing. I found that I had so much more energy after I worked out and it definitely improved my mood. One of the main reasons that this program has been so successful for me is because of the trainers. They are very hands on and truly care about everyone in the program. I really appreciate how they know what I am capable of and will push me when I feel like giving up. They are all very approachable and I never hesitate to ask them whenever I have any questions about my form or anything else. Fit Body Bootcamp is an extremely welcoming environment where both trainers and participants develop a strong bond and support each other. The main reason why I wanted to maintain a healthier lifestyle was so I could be a positive influence to my children. In the past, I would make them processed foods quite frequently, knowing that this was not what I should be doing. I allowed convenience to take priority over quality. As I have started concentrating more on my own nutrition, this has also benefitted my kids. They often want to eat the same healthy whole foods as me and sometimes even exercise with me. They realize that exercise and choosing the right foods are very important to overall health and I am proud to say that I am the one who has brought this awareness to them. In November of 2013, I had lost about fifteen pounds because of this program and was feeling wonderful about my progress. People would constantly compliment me and say that they noticed a change in me. I feel that the change was also in my attitude. I have always been a pretty positive person, but at this point, I started to feel very confident and strong, both physically and mentally. It was at this point that I decided to take a gene test to determine if I had the BRCA 1 gene since I have an extensive family history of breast/ovarian cancer. My goal was to live the healthiest lifestyle possible and if I did have the gene, I planned to take action immediately. It’s kind of crazy, but when I found out that I did have the BRCA 1 gene and would need to go through three separate surgeries in order to take preventative measures against developing cancer, one of my main thoughts was what will I do without bootcamp when I am recovering? Bootcamp has been a huge stress reliever for me and I rely upon it heavily. Everyone there was extremely supportive of me and let me know that I was missed when I took time off. Now, all of that is behind me. I returned to bootcamp 2 ½ weeks after my last surgery and decided to immediately join the 6 Week Transformation Challenge in order to kickstart my fitness again. Basically, I was off from bootcamp for six months and gained back some weight and inches. I wanted to hold myself accountable from the start and to be serious about getting into the best shape possible. Believe me, I had a good excuse to delay working out, but I felt a strong need to get back my previous levesl of strength and confidence. After just six weeks, I feel that I am just about at the level I was when I had to take my leave. I credit bootcamp for helping me recover quickly from my surgeries. My doctors/nurses often remarked that my recovery progress was amazing. Fit Body Bootcamp doesn’t just help the body. The help one to develop an incredible level of confidence that will transcend into all areas of your life. After all, we only have one life to live and should always strive to do our best – NO EXCUSES. Lump in my throat Denise, we are so blessed to have been able to walk with you through this life journey and Im so thankful to have you in our FBBC Fit Fam. Congrats!
