?/?/1934 ANGERED PANHANDLER SLASHES MAN WHO REFUSED HIM ALMS Angered because two pedestrians refused him alms on Walker Bridge last night, Tony Sprouk, 60, slashed the face of one of them with a knife, according to police. Twenty-five stitches were required to close the gash in the face of Harry Kater, 43, of Straub’s Lane, in Allegheny General Hospital. Albert Weidlincer, 30, of 2100 block Lowrie Street, was his companion. Lieutenant James J. Callahan and Plainclothesmen William Poland and John Higgins arrested Sprouk at Pine and Progress Streets. He was held on a suspicious person charge.
