1940s CC41 Utility Furniture Scheme Sewing Box. £55 ono. From World war II, the Utility Furniture Scheme was put in place during wartime to help people whos homes had bombed and to help with shortages. The scheme ran from 1942 until its demise in 1952. This has been painted in Annie Sloan chalk paint with a wax finish, the top has been sanded and varnished. Areas of the sewing box have a distressed finish. On the bottom of the sewing box is the CC41 stamp which I have left exposed. Due to the age of this item, please expect signs of wear and repair, the box inside has been left is previous colours, and a small part of the tray is damaged but this does not compromise its use. The measurements are: Height: 23 (59cm) Width: 20.5 (52cm) Depth: 14.5 (37cm) Props are not included. Collection from Egham, Surrey. Or I can deliver for a fee depending on location. Advertised on other sites also. Thank you for looking!
