He won 14-4 and 8-4. 1927 - Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run of the season. He beat his own record of 59 that he set in 1921. 1984 - Pete Rose (Cincinnati Reds) recorded his 100th hit of the season. It was the 22nd consecutive season he had recorded at least 100 hits in a season. 1987 - Walter Payton scored his 107th touchdown to break the NFL record held by Jim Brown.
