1958 PENDLETON PARK - I know this is a terrible photo, but it shows the pavilion at Pendleton Park; the pond, or empty depression, at far left edge near the intersection of Grimes and Morgan Blvd; there is a tall cylindrical white structure with a dark smoke stack in the middle of the triangle property north of Grimes, where BoogaDee Boos used to be and where Sonic is now. That round tall structure, I think was a cotton seed incinerator - not sure. We kids would walk by it in the 1960s on our way to the park or to watch Pee Wee baseball games at night. 21st street runs vertical at bottom of photo and intersects Grimes. No businesses or homes had been built yet where Citrus Terrace street would be in the empty field at lower left.
