1970 I was driving through Texas on my way for duty at Parris - TopicsExpress

1970 I was driving through Texas on my way for duty at Parris Island, S.C. and stopped in to see Gayle Beams in Sulphur Springs. He asked to film my kata. In the days of film, which was expensive, we often rushed when performing kata. As we can see in this film clip, just going through the motions. Gayle Beams was my student in Anchorage Alaska in 1960 after I was discharged from the Marine Corps. He was in the U. S. Airforce and went to Okinawa to train with Shimabuku Tatsuo Sensei in 1961. In late 1961, I reenlisted in the Marines and returned to Okinawa and Beams and I again trained together with Shimabuku Tatsuo Sensei at both the Agena and Hamada, Kin, dojo.
