1970s: Help!....Its The Hair Bear Bunch........... Info: 3 bears.....fast-talking Hair Bear, bafflegab-talking Bubi Bear and laid-back Square Bear who tries to get out of the Zoo either quick cash or have fun. For two guys work at the Zoo- Mr. Eustace P. Peevly and his helpless assistant Lionel J. Botch stop the bears from escaping and keep the bears stay at the Zoo. Episodes- 16 Original Run- September 11, 1971- January 8, 1972 on CBS Available on DVD/Blu-ray- Complete Series Review: 1. Story/Characters: Short lived series of 3 bears who wants to have fun and try to get money is the only way to be humorous. Its been an interesting idea but the thing is it wasnt as good as I hope it be. Dont get me wrong I like this idea but to me on the long run...it fell short. The characters are ok and I see them trying their best to be humorous. The thing is they werent interesting to me. To me its a mixed bag.....1/2 2. Writing: The writing here did try to keep the characters at bay and Im happy they have nice writers from other HB cartoons but no matter how they do it... I see why it failed and not making anymore stories. Its bad nice concept but like I said above its a mixed bag. 1/2 3. Acting: Actually the voice cast did their best to make these characters good. Paul, Daws, John and some other cast members did their effort to make them humorous and I think they did a superb job. This is probably one of the two I like this cartoon is the voice talent. 2/2 4. Animation: As animation goes with HB.....running same backgrounds, movements like the invisible motorcycle (I like that idea), scenery of the Zoo, more of the city and human and animals expressions....this gets full 2 points here since Im a big fan of HB animation and still the best of the best. Any cartoon from HB knows how to be great animation. 2/2 5. Overall: This cartoon is still good but not special. Its like a testing a car but at the end it falls flat. I recommend for HB fans and others better ren especially either DVD or instant streaming also check on Cartoon Networks sister channel Boomerang. To me its a mixed bag and wish it was better.
