1977... one of the coolest recordings ever takes place in Switzerland. The group Yes introduces the church pipe organ into progressive rock through a song called Parallels. Evidently, Rick Wakeman was in St. Martins church in Vevey while the rest of the band was in a studio in Montreux. He played the pipe organ which was recorded through a hi-fi telephone line while the band played simultaneously back in the studio. Amazing stuff they experimented with in the 70s... uh, sound-engineering-wise I mean. lol This is a video from the studio session... in the beginning you see Wakeman, all alone in the church.
