1978 40 Year Evolution By Imam W Deen Mohammed The Qur’an has empowered me, educated me, dignified me, lifted me up above most of the men of the world, and has Christians in places, government people in high places, Rabbis in high places, Imams, Muftis of the Muslim world, Sheikhs of the Muslim world in high places, even the King of Saudi Arabia, paying tribute to a man who just yesterday in history was called a nigger-a subhuman. In about 40 years we have gone across a territory of struggle, human and community achievement, that measures an ordinary history of community development the span of about 4,000 years. We have been brought up the ladder of human and community evolution over a period of about 40 years that equals 4,000 years in the rise of civilized communities. Look at where the Germanic tribes came from the life, the civilized evolution that they have experienced from days of their wild savage life. Dont you know, they used to be vandals and thats where we get the term vandal from those Germanic tribes that came out of the wilds of Europe and just tearing down the beauty of civilization of your ancestors. They went among your ancestors and the ancestors of other civilized and cultured people, and just tried to deface the beauty and culture. Look how long it took those wild Germanic people to come where they are today. Look, where their minds were in 1941. They were still, ready to be led by a vandal called Adolph Hitler. But, look at us after 40 years. You dont have to, even look at us at Dr. King. His substance is the same as ours. Look at Malcolm Shabazz and the many other great leaders. Respect the Guidance of G’d, and He will open up the reservoir of knowledge and material benefits to the human being that gives himself to Almighty G’d. You might say, well, why did G’d give it to the Caucasians? Because the Caucasian opened up his heart and gave his heart, his mind, and his whole soul to the worship of G’d as he knew G’d. Dont tell me he didnt. All the Caucasians weren’t racist. Weve always had Christian Caucasian Americans who championed the struggle for human dignity. Many of them lost their lives fighting their own people to save us from the terrible punishment that they were putting on us. John Brown was a Caucasian. But, that man led a physical army against his own people condemning them for their treatment of the slaves. Not only John Brown. We can look in recent history and you can see men who lost their lives, not just because they were bringing about revolutionary ideas and changes in the political concept of our life, but because they were befriending the cause of the poor disenfranchised Bilalian-American. President Kennedy and his brother, Robert Kennedy and many others.
